Lost another friend today.

I do not know what is going on but stop it. Another one passed away last night it seems. He was really a friend of my step daughter but we got to know him and liked him. He did a little carpentry work for us at times and was a proud craftsman. Not to many of those left anymore.

I do not want to hear of another friend dying for a long time.

I am completely with you. Last year I lost my dad and my old best friend from the teenage years and up. Made for a crap Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years season.

Hold on to the good stuff. That's what they tell me, anyway. It just sucks. Sorry for your loss.

I was going to say about the same thing. It only speeds up as you get older. The upside is you're hearing about them in place of them hearing about you.
