For several years I've lusted for a long slide M1911, preferably in 45 ACP, but I've just never pulled the trigger (no pun intended :)) when I stumbled across one.

Anybody onboard have or have had a long slide and if so what do you think of it ?

Just in case you fellas have been wondering about on what to get me for Xmas......

LOL, ummmm, can't do that. i might swap one off, but don't know. DW seems to be backing off their higher finished guns, might not be able to get another.

I've shot a few, and to me, they felt weird.
There's so much mass it feels like the gun recoils in slow motion and the slide struggles to get the next round off the mag and into the chamber.

I’ve got a RIA 10mm Pro Match Ultra 6” double stack. It’s a super fun gun. The slide is still snappy enough, maybe since it’s 10mm, the spring is stronger? IDK.
