has anyone ever loaded 45 acp with the magnum large pistol primer?
Not recommended unless you call the powder mfg. and get their reccomendations. You'll have pressure problems if you get close to max loads.
If your load books don't specify magnum primers, don't use them. It is one of the fundamental rules of reloading not to replace components.
I use CCI 350's all the time in my 45 loads.
Just remember, you have to use common sense with all reloading. You have to work loads up and when you switch to a magnum primer be extra careful.
I would not use a magnum primer with max loads, I only use em for my SS 45 that uses 225gr bulets at arount 750 fps.

Thanks. I am not trying to make more powerful loads. with this dang shortage the only large pistol primers i have left are magnums. i will call the powder mfgr that is a good idea.
