Because all of Texas' major cities are Deep Blue, regardless of the state being Red. The population of all these cities almost matches that of Oklahoma, itself.

With the "aft" claiming they have records on 1 billion firearms, there is more than likely some basis in fact to this survey. A true statistician may be able to glean enough data to give a very good estimate based on surveys, politics, letters to politicians and a variety of other tabulated sources. I'm not verifying the accuracy, just saying with some serious time consuming study a number or percentage could be arrived at, especially in states with FOID cards and pistol permitting. Don't discount NICS either...
