Meat shortage.

Read some reports of serious issues at some major meat packing plants. This worries me. Future meat prices. Ugh.

I remember when bacon soared a few years ago during the virus that killed off so many piglets - and never went back down. Of course. Once they drove prices up supposedly based on this (there was never a shortage, to my knowledge) they never let them back to pre-piglet-pandemic levels.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this again. Except in a LOT of fields.

Was just on 5:30 world news that another 1/2 dozen meat plants have shut down because of the virus...... like me others watch the news also so I wonder how long it'll be till the trickle down effect (shortages) shows up in our local grocery stores and the meat hoarding begins ?

First TP, bottled water, hand sanitizer and wipes, peroxide and alcohol, Tylenol, face masks, canned goods, guns, ammo, reloading supplies etc etc and now quite possibly there's going to be a shortage of meat.

Damnit there's no way in hell I can go vegan......I like these too much.

Meh, charcoal is easy to make, just takes time. Upside is the process of making charcoal can produce flammable fumes that can run a generator.

If you don't have freezer storage, learn to pressure can meat into the old fashioned Mason Jars.

Will last for years, no refrigeration required.

I know a family that does just that. Everything tastes like ham, but I like ham!
