^^^This. I paid into Medicare and SS for almost 50 years; something tells me I won’t be receiving money from those programs for 50 years. My excess funds went (and will go) to those recipients who paid little if any into them.

The early years you did not pay in very much in SS Taxes

We have a PPO Part C and love it. The new plan we will be on this year cost us $30 a month total. That includes the 2nd plan that you will pay for. That is A, B, D, F or G for $30. If you go with the Humana version of it you do not even have that.

A large network. Under ours no copay at our primary care and the specialist are cheaper too. Drug coverage is the same as all the other plans plus $45 a quarter in free over the counter meds. Free gym memberships, rides to the doc if needed, etc, etc.

Do not let anyone tell you to avoid this or that. Research for yourself and see what fits your needs.

When the board decides not to treat you anymore or they decide to dictate to you the medications you require are 15 cents cheaper across town and your local pharmacy is too expensive?

Drug coverage is NOT the same when on advantage vs part D. It totally depends on the individual's formulary needs. IN fact, I know of a few plans that would not pay for pricey diabetes meds for starters.

Well mine pays for my insulin and other meds. Never the latest and greatest BS but the stuff that is good. Of course that does not mean much since there seems to be a new drug every week or so.

Was my statement correct about current insurance dropping me if I go with a part D?

Can you explain this to me?? I'm covered by Grumpy's insurance at work but we are finding out they do not offer benefits I need now -- like home health care and in-home PT. I really have no clue how all this works. If I sign up for a supplemental plan would I be able to use all three plans?? Or would I just be paying more for something that would be denied as pre-existing now -- or non-coverable because it was denied my what is considered my primary insurance policy??

I am no expert so I really can not tell you. Only thing I can say Lavonne and I are both happy with Part C. It has saved us a ton of money out of pocket. I do have to watch hitting the donut hole on my meds but I had that with a supplemental plan too.

You need an insurance advisor. I will see if I can get Lavonne to give you our guys number tomorrow when she wakes up.
