This is not the 1979 movie or the 2021 movie. The basic plot is a two person team sees an anomaly in space, does the calculations, then determines a planet sized body called Kassandra was hit by a comet and the new trajectory is headed for earth. The Space Force can't cope with all the smallish harbinger meteors that are hitting everywhere and of course, all efforts are being thwarted and the country is eating its own. We only see the local people and their various sub plots which are pointless in the face of total annihilation.
