Been thinking about picking one of these up.

No real need for it but they do look cool!

Any thoughts, experiences with it?

Although it uses the same ammo, has the same rate of fire, and can uses magazines with the same capacity as an AR-15, it's not on the most recent "list"of proposed weapons to be banned.

That was one of my thoughts as well. Odd, isn't it?

I'll check with my LGS tomorrow and at least see what he can do for me, price-wise. Then mull it over and probably pick one up.

I had one (blue, not S/S). Fun guns to shoot, and reliable with Ruger mags. They appeal to some of us because they are very un-ARish.
Yeah some kind of mystical force in the universe that only Ruger magazines function well in Minis'. No body seems to be able to make one that works flawlessly yet. And Ruger seems to know that and charge a pretty penny for them.

My mini-14 and my buddies weren’t the most accurate rifles out there.
First two shots were POA, but then started climbing high and to the right.
Both rifles did the same. We assumed it was because the barrel is not free floated.
