Supposed to be both dead, via Nipp. US Marshalls and OHP have taken over the case. The Sheriff of love county is 2nd cousin to Nipp and impeding the investigation supposedly.

If the first part is true,(which seems likely) it's very sad. As for the second part rumors and statements on some "other sites" put forth the idea that the investigation was being hampered or misdirected early on, hopefully now that others are involved the local "issues" will be exposed and pushed aside so that the truth will be found and justice served.
