No love for the Ruger American .45? I was torn between FNX, HK45 and a Ruger American and wound up with the FNX from another member here. The Ruger is half the price of the other 2, but for some reason is harder to find.

I’m a bit fan of .45 and mainly collect modern handguns. Off the top of my head I have some 1911s, a .45acp Boberg, SW 645, SW 4586, P220, HK P9 and I think that is it. Once 9mm ammo got good people had less use for .45 so a lot of manufacturers just slowly tooled down to only make 1911s in that caliber.

My nightstand gun is a Sig P220. I’ve owned it for around 6 years. I own or have owned several45’s over the years and I feel like I shoot it more accurately than the others. It’s the DA/SA with a decocker, so I’m more comfortable leaving a round in the chamber.

Are you sure the HK is a P9 in 45acp? I have never seen or heard of one. The P9S was made in 45.

Give the Smith & Wesson M&P45 M2.0 Compact a try. I loved mine, but something else came along and caught my eye, which turned out to be a nope.

It has a 10 round magazine (that only holds 9) and is roughly the same size as a Glock model 45. I plan on buying another one when I can locate one.

I thought my 1.0 mags were 9 rounders too. They'll take the 10th, it's just a real chore especially when new. A Maglula helps. A lot!
