Well, met Wizard tonight and picked up my Montana Gold bullets. Wizard was telling me that he weighed some of the 9mm bullets and they were very consistent, so I took 50 each of the 124 gr CMJ 9mm and 55 gr FMJBT .223 bullets and put them on the scale one at a time. Here's the results:

9mm
Average 123.466 gr
Max 123.8 gr
Min 123.2 gr
Mode 123.4 gr

.223
Average 54.892 gr
Max 55.0 gr
Min 54.8 gr
Mode 54.9 gr

I was very impressed, especially considering the price for these, 7.3 cents / bullet for the 9mm and 7.7 cents / bullet for the .223.

As far as pistol bullets go, I've only found two that were more accurate than MG's, Nosler & Hornady XTP's. Neither of those two offer enough extra accuracy to justify the premium they command over MG's.

I've got some Montana Gold .223 that I've miced and weighed and found to be highly consistent. Sorry I didn't write down the numbers at the time, but they were so close and consistent that I just shrugged and thought "These are great bullets" and went on.

MG seems to have their processes together for making a fine product.

I only wrote them down since Wizard had mentioned how close they were, so I wanted to actually record it and see the numbers. I loaded 20 of them this morning, I'll shoot them today and see how they do compared to some Sierra GameKing 55gr FMJ BT bullets that I had laying around.

I loaded 100 of the 124gr 9mm's last night and shot them today at H&H. They sure load easier than lead ones. These shot great with 4.1grs of Titegroup behind them.

Thanks again Wiz for getting all this together for us.

I need to shoot some 9mms now. I shot 20 of the .223 today along with some other bullets I had. I was shooting at 50yds with my AR with a 3-9x scope slapped on it. I wasn't impressed with the scope or my shooting, I couldn't group anything. Guess that means I'm gonna have to shoot some more...

What OAL are you guys using on the 124gr? I'm using 4.2gr of Titegroup with a 1.13 OAL with the 124gr CMJ.
Thinking about getting some 147gr CMJ's for IDPA, but need to find a good OAL with the flat nose.

Tams72 is currently running the 147CMJ at 1.125 OAL. It works fine in her M&P Pro, but doesn't work in my suppressed G-17. That may be due to the powder charge rather than the OAL though.
