Found 60 today, mixed bag of grey and yellow. I guess they don't need warm temps and sunshine to pop as its been cold and rainy here for days.
Dangit. Had no chance to go look, won't have a chance till later in the week. And we all know they'll be gone by then. <sigh>

I’ve got some cousins up in Hutch Kansas that worship these things. I’ve never harvested or ate one. Are they that good?

@rockchalk06 in my opinion they taste about like what you batter and fry em in. My wife grew up in Missouri, her and her family are plumb crazy bout em. I just go hunt em for fun with her and the girls. My main concern is whacking armadillos. Lol
