I know its a little early but ive got the morel fever already. Figured id give this gem of a thread an early bump.

Won't be long! Plenty of moisture this year in most areas too.

they really are the best side ever to fried fish or chicken. Never had them in butter but im sure theyd be delicious.

Darn you for the early bump, now the morel fever is seriously growing.

Butter is THE best, imho. I would caution those that have never cooked them, it is best to cook em well, uncooked/undercooked morels can cause stomach ailments in SOME people.

Needs several days of 53* and above. Usually about the first week of April up here before any yellows are found.

Going to have a look see this weekend I think. Been in NJ and Singapore for the last month so I need to go walk in the trees if nothing else. Flying 17 hours on Friday so looking forward to stretching my legs on Saturday.

Shouldn't be long. Know some that have been out in north TX looking, still nothing yet.
