Mosquitoes on steroids ?

Went to the range early this morning and I couldn't believe the size of some of the mosquitoes I was killing.......along with the normal size there were some that were at least twice or maybe even three times as big.

I work outside every day, & I haven't been bit by a mosquito in 3 weeks. (Which happens to be the last time I went fishing)

I was in literal hand to hand combat with one the other day. I ended up winning, but it was a hard fought battle.

Some of these could be Alaska sized --- do they make a good source of protein?

I am having to use OFF to do anything in the yard. Trying to load some limbs in the dumpster yesterday and killed 5 of the little buggers on my arms. Bad this year with all the rains. I broke out the old bug zapper today too. Normally I will not use one because it kills bugs that do no harm but this year I had too.

On a side note, has anyone heard anything about West Nile Virus this year or is that being blamed on Covid too?
