I wanted to be able to steady the AR 15 when shooting for groups and you need a tall bag and even then the rounded stock likes to rock back and forth.

Yea the right shooting rest and bag will work fine but I have 2 spare Bipods and a lot of stuff laying around.

Recognize this part?

Anyone that has hung a ceiling fan or enough light fixtures has probably seen one of these.
I had one in the spare goodies bin.

I then got a bolt that kind of threaded into it and stuck it in and welded it solid.
Ground the weld down a bit and cut the bolt short and flat sidded the bolt to
make it look like a pin on a rifle that you mount a Bipod to.

I then drilled a hole through it .140" diameter.
That allows the .132" pins on this Bipod to fit well and not pull out.

I then took the plastic forearm off the AR and removed the aluminum heat shield and placed this under the shield and reinstalled the aluminum shield and stuck the plastic back on.

See the pin sticking out in the 4th hole.
Works great and cost me a little time and took care of a junk stripped bolt and that hanger.

Does not rattle around either without the Bipod.

Yea you can buy adapters for this purpose but this was just too easy.
