My advice for mowers is the same are vehicles. I had a cub cadet LTX1050 for 10 years, maintained it, it was well cared for. 2019 it started to give me trouble, Belts pulleys etc. I rebuilt the deck though should be good to go, nope 2020 that damn mower decided to go to hell. Everytime I went to mow it was something. Finale hit came when it threw the deck belt, WTH? that thing was shredded, I saved the old belt installed it and took off, then it stared to make a grinding sound, then the deck died. I thought the PTO had died, nope I look behind me and there in the yard was half a spindle with the blade attached. Screw it I picked it up, drove up to the back of the house parked and went and bought a new mower LOL. I was done fighting it, sold the old one to a neighbor for $400 who wanted the engine, a Kawasaki. When they start giving you fits, time to ditch.
