Well I can tell exactly what you have there. That Green box i have used that stuff before and it is the worst ammo I have ever had the displeasure of shooting. But anyway I digress. First off, 7.62x54R is NOT a NATO Caliber...period. Russia never entered into NATO alliance, only the Warsaw Pact, therefore no Russian caliber ever became a NATO standard ammo, nor has Russia ever adopted any NATO calibers. And why would they adopt the enemies calibers? What you actually have there is 7.62x51 (.308) produced in Venezuelan by the manufacture "CAVIM" as least as far as the boxes go. What caliber is inside....could be 7.62x54R that was switch out. But if your boxes actually say 7.62x54R on them...and NATO....than the boxes are fake and the ammo is most likely good ole Russian standard mil surplus Steel core, corrosive 7.62x54R ammo. But you will have to open one find out. CAVIM did not manufacture 7.62x54R fyi. I am pretty sure it actually reads 7.62x51 NATO on the boxes. Plus it would say 7.62x54R...not 7.62x54. No manufature would leave the "R" off a labeled box. Oh and this "map of NATO" you see on the box....ya its not NATO...its Venezuela.
