I mentioned previously in a couple other threads that I finally decided to get on the Valkyrie band wagon. Well, I didn’t start on the band wagon, rather thought I might as well give it a try.

Anyway, decided to start this thread and document my journey.

Sota Arms billet lower
PSA lower parts kit
JP springs and polished trigger
Magpul furniture
Bear Creek Arsenal upper w/22”, 1:7 barrel
Aero scope mount
Vortex Crossfire scope, 4X16X50.

75 gr Hornady ELD-Match being pushed by 24.6 gr of H4895. COL = 2.260”
This is reaching max load but what I learned about these ELD-Match Bullets is that they do not stabilize and/or perform well at lower velocities.

69 gr Sierra HPBT Match Bullets behind the same 24.6 gr of H4895, but seated deeper at 2.180 COL. These bullets performed better than the Hornady at lower velocities, but this load performed the best.

I will work on seating depth first and see if that will tighten the groups up any more. No signs of pressure issues, but I am still hesitant to push the max load much further.

I’m going to seat the ELD’s to about 2.250” and back the Sierra out to 2.200” COL. We will see what that does to things.

Remember that Valkyrie band wagon I mentioned before. Well, I’m thinking I might just be hopping on board soon. Gotta get on some coyotes first, maybe a doe during either youth season or rifle season, then would love to see how it works on prairie dogs.

Nice, curious about the changes in seating depth. I’ve come very close to taking the Valkrie adventure myself.

As mentioned in another of your threads, I'm interested in a build as well.
As a side note, every caliber I've owned does a great job accuracy wise with Sierra match king, and game king HPBT bullets.
In .30 cal the game kings on deer just totally destroy the innards of one shot with them.
Good choice of bullet.

Are those groups measured with the center to center method or inside to inside? Either way is fine as long as you continue using the same method to compare loads. I like to use the center to center method with it being the standard.
