Plus the Ruger 10/22 is new and unfired, so it will need a bit of breaking in too for all the parts to get properly worn to each other for optimum operation. The factory trigger pull is a bit stiff. I have a new Volquartson Target hammer, springs and shims that I'm going to put in the trigger group to give me around a 2LB much better trigger pull. Hopefully will get a chance to install that tomorrow and maybe shoot some to break in that finned barrel as well as the rest of the gun.

If you're interested in getting the kit Dennis, give Craig Scott of Scottwerx a call (818) 248-1139 and tell him Bill Akins sent you. [QUOTE="Bill Akins, post: 2724462, member: 15215"] I don't know how it shoots yet Dennis, I haven't shot it yet. Just put it together last evening. The Green Mountain finned barrel has what is called a "Benz" match chamber. It won't chamber a .22 stinger cartridge because the match chamber is too short for the slightly longer than normal 22LR stinger, and it won't extract a sub sonic round due to the chamber being a very tight walled match chamber. But supposedly it will chamber and shoot all other .22 LR cartridges. Supposedly the tighter "Benz" chamber equates to better accuracy. Will test it out soon, maybe tomorrow. But according to the Green Mountain paperwork that came with it, I need to follow a specific regimen for firing so many rounds, cleaning, oiling, firing more strings, cleaning, oiling.....to break the barrel in properly. So I have to get past the barrel break in period to really know how it will do once broken in. Here's the website for the kit.
