I thought this was an interesting program to teach bleeding control to the public. I talked to my local fire department about getting some of their staff certified to teach this course and they seemed very interesting in having someone in the department certified.

FWIW. When I spoke to the BAFD a few months ago, the gentleman I spoke to was very interested in participating in the stop the beed program. We may even see them offer more classes in the future. I’d encourage anyone that was interested to speak to there local fire department about getting someone certified to teach this program, from what I’ve seen it’s a simple process. If you have basic CPR/First Aid skills, then you should add b-con to your skill set. I think the stat was 20% of emergency medical situations are bloodloss related.
