I agree. If you have enough bullet expansion and do enough damage to the heart, lungs, and shoulder, they may take a step or two but not more than 10 yards. The 300 wsm with 150 grain ballistic silvertips will make a .30 inch hole on entrance and you can put a softball in the exit.

IMO the best spot to aim on a hog is between the ear and the front of the shoulder.. If you hit a big boar in the shield on that shoulder you're in trouble.. there's a post on another forum that i'll try to find that has some good info on hog shot placement..

My opinion on hogs is simple, no matter what you choose to shoot them with, shoot all you can.
My experience is that hogs body shot with the smaller calibers and lighter bullets don't rollover. Good luck to all and please, shoot all you can :)

To the question of the thread..one right behind or in the ear for me when using the smaller calibers.
