For around $250.00 you can get an 870 express youth model to see if they like it.Then if they do you can get them a youth model 1100 or Winchester sx3.The pumps are a lot faster and easier to clean than the autos.

Thinking about it, I don't believe I've ever shot a 20 gauge...

Hmmm.

I have shot 12 gauge (currently own a couple) and 16 gauge though. I suggest that you don't try to make it too "soft," in case they ever have the need to fire whatever shotgun is handy in an emergency.

Just my two cents. :drunk2:
