    Saw this knife in a pawn shop. Is anyone familiar with this type of knife. Only markings are shown in pic. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    It looks like a beat up worn out old K Bar fighting knife made by Ontario. A MKII. It has the US above Ontario so it appears to be military. The M4 slash M7 grip I assume was put on after the leather grip rotted and worn out away by the previous owner. At least that’s what I think.

    Close, but what is the huge plunge line in the blade right in front of the guard? That is what is throwing me.

    I saw that also. No idea why it was altered like that. Not that it resembles it but it made me think of a Kukri and how they have a notch in them. More than likely someone got happy grinding. At first I though it might have been a navy dive knife if it was stainless but I figure with the weird cut in it that it’s been on a grinding and buffing wheel.
