Never ship a rifle around Christmas

Back before cell phones and interwebs tracking.

I shipped a rifle from Las Vegas to myself, via UPS.
On Monday, Took the package to shopping office, insured for $4000, on $400 value
Would not allow them to attach the firearms stickers, only the insured and ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED.

We were leaving Las Vegas the next day (Tuesday). The package was sent 2nd day, so it should arrive the day after we got home.

Wed, no package
Thurs, no package
Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon; no package.
I get home from work on Tuesday and see a package on the porch. Wife has been home, all day, did not sign for package, did not know package was delivered.
