I'm thinking about getting a new barrel and switching out my fixed handle upper. The question is should I go w/Chrome lining or not?

I saw a BCG the other day that was.... TiN? Titanium Nitride, I think? Supposed to be like 3 microns thick, and has a gold-appearing finish. I wouldn't want it on everything on my gun, but it would be cool to try it out on a BCG.

the thing to never do with a nitride barrel is run a wire brush thru the bore. i use nylon like brushes. and it cleans so easy, even the bolts and bolt carriers. Mr. Beene at ARP said he has a nitride barrel that been in salt water for either 3 or 5 years (i disremember which) and it shows no signs of corrosion. plus nitride is slick as owl snot, all my barrels are nitride treated and i have zero complaints
The chrome lining is internal and I'm thinking it would last longer than a non lined barrel. Right?
the nitride finish is also internal, it should outlast chrome, it's harder and slicker than chrome
i use these barrels exclusively, except in my 308's - but only because he didn't have them in stock when i built them. but i did use nitride barrels for my 308's

Don't use vinegar based cleaners on Nitride. Don't do it.
