Back in the early days as a night shift worker living in an apartment complex, the door knockers during my sleep time was non stop.
vendors would drop off teams into the complex.
Finally put a sign on my door saying we shoot every third solicitor. The second just left! Door knocks ended.
Three days on, three days off with 12 hour shifts so days off fell during the week.
Was geared up to go rabbit hunting one morning, ready to walk out the door when there was a knock.
Opened the door with rifle in hand. The young man with a folder standing in front of me just stared at the gun, apologizing as he backed away. It was hard to keep a straight face! I so wanted to explain the situation but didn’t. Just shut the door.
