Received a Email today about new Glock models, Glock 43X and Glock 48:

https://us.glock.com/en/a-perfect-fit

Appears the new Glock 48 is a longer version of the Glock 43; roughly 3/4 " longer; and the magazine capacity on the Glock 48 and 43X is increased to 10 rounds new silver nPVD coated slide.

Due January 21, 2019

2019 I feel old !!!!

Looks to me like that G48 is basically 1/8" slimmer than a G19, with a mag capacity of 10 vs. 15 / 17 / 19 / 24 / 31 / 33. I personally like the magazine capacity and flexibility more than the 1/8" difference; think I'll stay in a G19.

Normally, I would be all giddy with this news, but sadly, I'm kinda meh about it.

I like the idea about the thinner grip and the lack of the hump that the 43 sports, but since I picked up the G45, nothing else comes close.

Hate to say it, but Glock appears to be going the route of BMW. They've got so many models now that it's hard for me to tell 'em apart, much less understand the reason for so much of the sameness.....

Just my uneducated opinion. (To be fair, I have a 19, 26, & 36 which all have substantial differences.)

Kahrs are fine weapons, just a little bit finicky on what you feed em. Also, most Kahrs don't hold more than 7/8 rounds. 10+1 in a G19 sized pistol that has been slimmed down is brilliant. I can hear it now. It will be dubbed the Glock 19 Slim.

But, like JD8 said...just 10 years late.

And also like he said, they will sell like pancakes. And also, like @xseler said, they have now got me somewhat confused. Used to be it was about interchangeability of common parts and that the baby Glocks could be fed from the bigger Glocks' magazines.

Lets see the 43x is chasing the Sig 365 as is everyone else.
The 48 will be a slim 19 that I hate to say Avidity Arms had promised with their PD10 which seems to be a Unicorn. The plus for the PD10 was it using Colt 1911 9mm magazines.

Until Glock gets away from outside plastic lined mags I cannot see them competing with the others. Again, the Sig 365 and look at the Kahr CT/TP line. Slim is in!
