So for my wives car I did that exact thing when I bought it. At the time we were still in Lawton. I looked on the Honda forums and there was a thread were people posted what they were paying for Accords. I had an idea of what a good price was. I sent an email to all the Honda dealers in OKC one Saturday morning. Told them I was headed to town, the exact car I wanted color, options so on and the one with the best deal was getting my money. In 20 minutes I had people calling me. Ended up one guy called said whats is the best off you have. I told him he said he would call me in 10 with a better offer. He beat the best offer buy $200. Got there the car was already tinted and had some other options that I got for free. Got there wife test drove it. Waited 20 minutes to get into finance to sign papers we were in there for maybe 20 minutes and done. Easiest deal I ever made. Your issue is you are buying a car that there is a much more limited supply of so it will take a little more work. Still if you are willing to travel someone will make you a deal on one. Another thing is if your not familiar with car industry. You want an all in price including fees and b.s. Tell them you aren't paying doc fees and all that garbage or to include it in the price. Be prepared to walk away from any deal. Never fall in love with a vehicle till you own it. Once they tell you a price if they hit you with other fees tell them. I am not paying B.S. $500 doc fee when you electronically submit the tag and print 5 sheets of paper work. Just know there are multiple transactions in buying a car. One is sale price of vehicle, two if you are financing that is a separate issue, the best will be from a credit union or from the manufacture if they have financing. The last is a trade in. All 3 should be treated separately. Fourth would be extended warranty. Never buy one. Avoid a 4 square or any of that B.S. from the salesman. If your not savvy on how car dealerships work this guy has a pretty good video.
