A pain to clean? I find they field strip very easy. I have never thought of them as hard to clean. Now, quick to get dirty? Oh yeah. The inside of the slide especially will gunk up on you quick; 100 rounds and it's time to wipe it down, at least. Must be something with the way it is designed...or something.

600 rounds from a blow-back design, like the PPK/S, will make you winch a little. The barrel stays put. There's nothing there to take up recoil but a smallish recoil spring and the web of your hand.
Yeah I shot it again a few days ago and I'm getting used to it now. Man I'm falling in love with this thing. Made it my carry gun. Just a good accurate reliable piece of history and art

I've always loved those! A super pain to clean and that bite sometimes!

If you want a 380 that bites, try a Beretta 70s! That was my first semi-automatic pistol --- was also almost my last. I still wince when I think about it.

I still don't have a Walther in the harem, hmmm.

Thank you, but I really don’t think I want a 380 that bites. However, may look at one of the new PPK/S Pistols anyway, but if I am overcome with it and get one, that gross beavertail is going to get “shaped”.

I'm really happy to see these new ones are nice. I paid what was a LOT for me at the time to get a S&W contracted PPK/S and it was the shiniest prettiest awful little turd I ever owned. Externally it was beautiful, internally it looked like someone cut the parts out with a hacksaw and roughly fit them together by rubbing them on the nearest abrasive concrete surface. Kinda hope they do a run of .32ACP models for these new ones, I had the pleasure of shooting an original in that caliber and it was delightful.

I am a ppk and ppk/s fan. I loathe what they did to the tang (beavertail). Cylinder and slide did a re-shape on one on their website a few years ago. Basically took it way down. If I ever get one of these, something like that will have to happen.

Like our friend here I am a Walther fanatic having collected several Walther pistols an rifles. When the plant in Ranger Alabama stopped making PPK, PPK/s, and TPH's I was very sad as these were some of the finest made Walther's outside of Germany/France. The one's made by S&W for the most part are nothing more than junk. I'll probably try one of the AR pistol's, and I'm hoping that they turn out good. Untill then I'll keep loving an shooting my Ranger guns, and my NON-Import marked German/French Walthers. I do wish Walther or someone would start making the P38/P4/P5 pistol's again. This includes the tiny TPH, but bring that one back in both .25acp an .22lr. I've got two in .22lr, but would really like one in .25acp!!!

I handled one of these at Big Boys this past Sunday, man, it really is beautifully made. The internals are very nicely machined ad that feed ramp...that feed ramp is a thing of beauty. The grips are a classy touch, the whole pistol begs for you to buy it and wear it under a tuxedo jacket while playing at the casino. And if it hadn’t been for that Gawd-Awful extrusion of the beavertail, I would have at least bought it; not the tuxedo.
