I remember when he was a player as well as a sportscaster in KC.

He was a helluva QB in his day, one of the most famous pics is him having a smoke and drinking a coke during halftime of the Superbowl I think it was.

I met him in KC when Joe Montana came to tòwn, they did an interview with Joe at Gates BBQ while we were eating lunch there

He played in an era where toughness was a requirement.
There were no rules on protecting the quarterback and getting flagged if you barely ran into him.
Miss those games.

If I remember correctly, while being interviewed after throwing 5 interceptions in a game he said, "Well, I threw to the open man."

Way back when…he had just signed with KC and was moving into an apartment on the same day that a cousin and his new bride were moving into the same building. He asked a couple of us to help him carry a sofa into his unit. We had no idea, at the time, who he was, or certainly who he would become.
