Here's a better way to look at the labor participation rate:
This is what an economy looks like under different presidents.

Let's see, up like a rocket under a Reagan and down like a rock under Obama. It's gonna go back up under trump. Probably more steep than the Reagan years.

That's in part due to the large number of "Baby Boomers" born after WWII that started to retire in the 2000's.
This is correct. Raw data is meaningless because of the ebb and flow of birth/death rates. A more accurate analytic would be to compare the percentage of active workforce participants by age range. Just a SWAG, but I'd bet the participation percentage in the 20-30 age range is down. I'd also bet the participation percentage for 65-80 is up?
