I have a shirt that says "Not responsible for things I steal" that I wear shoplifting. It really takes the stress away. ODOT and OHP do sit by the quarry pretty regularly and check trucks. the ones that don't avoid them anyways. I too have fallen victim to the dilapidated rigs and buttholish driving style of the dirt dummy. I've shattered 2, and chipped 3 more in recent years. The chips weren't that big of a deal, stuff happens. Just a little slip of some small stuff. The 2 times they shattered it were both ungodly combinations of clapped out rigs and Nascar wannabes in the seat. One guy actually came flying up to cut me off with no signal, hit a rough spot, shake some rocks out and shatter my windshield all in a matter of seconds, he couldn't have planned it better. The one I could have confronted, I didn't because meh...it was just not worth it, I could tell. I know people who have got their claims paid though. I can usually avoid it on 46th staying way back. Other than the occasional rock from the opposing lane. It's 169 between I-44 and 46th that's a gauntlet, when they are jockeying for position. They will pass you in any lane, cut in front of you whenever they want with no signals, cruise the hammer lane at 59mph and blocking up the works because they are too lazy to make lane changes..etc.
