Oklahoma Sport Shooting is conducting an NRA Rifle Instructor Course. Sat. Nov. 1st & 2nd.
This course consist of 8 hours of 'Basic Instructor Training or BIT and 10 hours of course specific training for Rifles. To enroll in this course you must first pass a Pre-Qualifying interview and show firearms knowledge Skills, and Attitude.
We do not teach firearm basics in this course and we expect Instructor candidates to show they have the required knowledge pre class, that we can focus our time on how to instruct to basic students.
In the Pre-Qualification, Inst. candidates will demo: Loading/Unloading, Clearing stoppages, Shooting an actual firearm, & and Instructor Interview.
Candidates learn to instruct NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.
