Well, Channel 9 news just reported that a 23 year old male open carried into a polling place to vote and was told to leave. He allegedly came back later wearing a jacket and hat and went inside and voted. One of the employees recognized him from the earlier incident and observed him taking his jacket off as he was getting into his vehicle before he left and he was still wearing his gun.

The news said that he we charged with carrying a firearm into an unauthorized place. Currently in the Oklahoma Jail, $4000.00 bond.

OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City man is behind bars for expressing his right to openly carry in the wrong place. Police arrested 23-year-old Ethan Sisson after they say he tried to vote with a handgun hanging from his belt.

Sisson is accused of violating Oklahoma's new "Open Carry" law. Police say he had a handgun on his hip when he tried to vote in the elections two weeks ago.

Police say Sisson was turned away, but returned two hours later, wearing a disguise.

Court records show after Sisson voted, he took off his disguise, and showed the election monitor his handgun. Sisson told the inspector it was his right to have the gun with him. He was then ordered to leave.

Police want Sisson charged with unlawful carry in certain places, a misdemeanor.

Sisson's grandmother, Jean Sisson, says Sisson was just standing up for a principle he believes in.

"He would do anything for anybody that he could," she said.

Sisson is being held at the Oklahoma County Jail on $4,000 bond.

I didn't realize polling places were listed as "off limits".

They gave him a chance to leave he did but came back with a hat and coat on and then took them off and said that it was his right to carry in there I dont know he was ok until he went back in his bail is like $4000 and he is still in jail

A polling place is not a prohibited place under law, unless it was a school or a government building.

My point was, the article does not specify where the polling place was located. It would help to know this information.
