OK CCW Instructor Requirements

Hey guys, I'm working on getting my paperwork in to the state of Kansas to teach our state CCH course. Since I live on the state line, I'd like to be able to teach Oklahoma courses, as well, but I cannot find anywhere that it states whether I am required to be an Oklahoma resident or not. Kansas does not have the residency requirement, can anyone tell me if I am/would be able to get certified to teach Oklahoma's course or not?

Okay, I did not read ALL of this, but it says at the end of paragraph B that you must meet the qualifications to be issued a handgun license...

So I'm going to say you probably have to be a resident of Oklahoma... but I've been wrong before.

I'd probably call OSBI and ask.

You have to be a resident of OK , and pay for an instructor's carry license, to be an OK instructor. Sorry. Read the SDA law on the OSBI site.

Carefully look at the eligibility requirements, mandatory preclusions and other preclusions to determine if you are qualified to be an SDA license holder. Non residents are not eligible for an OK license.

I would say it isn't worth getting now. We haven't done a class in about two years. I know 4 other instructors that agreed there isn't a demand for the class anymore.

Since I am not an instructor I don't have first hand experience but one of our local instructors has continued to book classes. There seem to be people still seeking training.

Your location most likely makes a difference on the demand for the class.

I'm still getting demand for classes but I live 4 miles from the OK/TX border.
