Braking for Green Lights is an Oklahoma driving phenomenon that almost caused me to wreck more than I can count. I had never ever encountered it before I moved here. Having put myself through college driving Yellow Cabs / Taxis in & around NYC ( way back ) , our rules-of-the-road were simple regarding lights. 🔴 Red means Stop 🟢 Green means Go Fast 🟡 Yellow means Step on the Gas, it’s gonna change & make me have to stop Additionally, Back East, NYC-Jersey area, drivers talked & communicated fluently with our car horns to each other. Depending on how you tapped, or layed on your horn, or what rhythm employed, you could give a friendly “howdy” to another driver to the other end of the spectrum and tell ‘em where they should go eternally . Car horns were indispensable keeping us organized on the road. So when I got to OK in the mid 80’s , I was considered extremely rude & offensive & aggressive as a driver. Ha, probably still am. Memorial Day, God Bless our Service Members, past & present 🇺🇸
