Armed Suspect Loses Fingers When Tulsa Homeowner Fights Back Posted: Oct 02, 2010 8:18 AM CDT Tulsa police and ambulance services are pictured at the scene of an early morning home invasion. Police arrested this man at the scene and are searching for two additional suspects. TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A home invasion apparently cost one suspect some fingers after a Tulsa homeowner fought back, according to Tulsa police. The invasion took place just before 6:30 Saturday morning in the 400 block of South 106th East Avenue. "According to the victim, his front door was kicked in and a white male and black male entered his house," said Corporal Scott Anderson of the Tulsa Police Department. Anderson said evidence shows the two men broke into the residence in an attempted armed robbery. The homeowner wrestled a gun from one of the suspects and fired several rounds, wounding the man in the hand. EMSA medics asked police to search for man's fingers, the corporal said. "The suspect possibly lost one or two fingers," he said. The homeowner then held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. The second suspect ran from the house and left in a car driven by a third man. The homeowner was pistol whipped as he fought with the suspect. Both were taken to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. The getaway car is believed to be 1980s model white Pontiac Grand Am.
