It wouldn't be hard to drop a new engine in it. If that rust is just surface I would sand it out now and put some primer on it, just to preserve the metal. That would be a fun project.

New engine is my thought if this one doesn’t want to come back from the grave. It’s the original engine as far as I know.

That's a good channel, with a fair amount of good content. The old fords are the ONLY fords for me from here on out. I currently have a 79 Bronco that runs great, but the floor is rusted out and the frame is bent. Been on the lookout for another 78/79 parts Bronco to make one complete truck. Was going to 300 swap it, but the block I got had hairline cracks. I do have a p-pump cummins laying though!
