Not only in California, sadly. I have seen it first hand at an infant's funeral. People's inability to set crap aside for a moment like that wears me out.

Completely different from a New York Irish funeral where they've been known to remove the body from the casket and stand it up in the corner of the funeral home; massive consumption of Irish beer and whiskey involved.
