Okay, guys. I'm in the market for another 1911. So far, I've owned 3 Kimbers (still have 2), a Colt Combat Elite (sold), and a Taurus 1911 (sold). My two Kimbers are a base model Custom II and a Stainless Pro Carry II. I like them pretty well, but can't say that I know enough about 1911's to judge good from bad. I haven't read any really bad things about Kimbers, but from some remarks, I can read between the lines that not everyone is a fan of the brand. I'm not a great shot and too old to become one. I'm not a collector, so I'm looking for a gun to shoot, not look at. I would like some honest opinions and suggestions from some of you guys that are in the know, especially those that work on 1911's. I don't want to start a brand bashing thread here. Just want some honest opinions and suggestions. Thanks
