The older issued Marks 4s are 2FP, (3-9x, 3.5-10x, 4.5-14x) but they issued FFP 3.5-10s for M24s and MK11 and M110 upgrades throughout the years in limited numbers. The Mark 4 6.5-20x is a FFP scope as well. All are bullet proof and most have zero stops. You just have to set it when you zero and slip the caps (M3); they aren't a push button or a detent like the newer scopes except the 6.5-20x. All Mark 5 have a simple zero stop.

I'm well versed on all those latter scopes you posted. I have or have had the Razor HDs and Bushnell HDMR and XRS and they are good scopes, all made by LOW. I do get pricing on NiFo and Leupold and others, but it's limited to individuals mostly. Leupold does have a pro deal for Mil/LE but you have to register, but their newer scopes are reasonable priced nowadays.

Depending on the distance the Op wants to shoot his 50 and if he wants Leupold I would run with either the Mark 6 or 8. I believe the squeeze is worth the juice when compared to the Mark 4. Although, I believe once you enter into the high end scope market you get to a point of diminishing returns. That’s why he needs to answer several questions regarding what he has to have to accomplish the mission of his weapon system. Most shooters don’t have a range to stretch the legs of a 50 and if they do they won’t use all of the scopes magnification. The most I’ve used shooting a mile is 15 to 18x. Glass quality and scope tracking are very important at these ranges and if they are not tracking correctly what correction factor do you need to use?

What's an "Op"? Is that an Operator like this: https://arsof-history.org/articles/v14n1_creed_page_1.html ? Sniper's Hide says stuff like that.

I use all the magnification I have in the scope that allows holds until I need to dial my turret. Beyond 1100 ish meters I dial and use as much mag as the scope has.

That said, this is Hodrod's post and I've provided him my input along with others and don't think I'll continue this as it's getting hijacked. If you want to continue your Sniper's Hide thread, just PM me.

OP is short for Original Poster and has nothing to do with the Hide
