Good evening everyone, I already posted about unexpectedly loosing one of our dogs today in the “Animals in our lives” thread, but I found a few more pics that I wanted to share.

This one always makes me laugh. Cassie would lower her butt and take off running through the house like a crazy woman while jumping on and off any furniture that was in her path. My wife called it the “zoomies”. This pic was taken during one of those episodes.

My wife thought that Cassie might look more presentable if she gave her a haircut. It didn’t work!

This is how I’ll always remember her.

^^^For a person that much prefers the company of my dogs and cats than people, this kind of post makes my heart hurt.
Do y’all have other pets or was she the only one?

Edit to add that I know all about the “zoomies“. My baby gatos get them every night sometime between 8:30 and 10:00, and that‘s the sign it’s their bed time.

It does hurt especially because it was completely unexpected. We have a houseful of others. We have an old, half blind, half deaf lab. I’ve been trying to prepare myself for loosing him in the not to distant future. We also have two younger dogs. One is an Anatolian Shepherd, and I’m still not sure what the other one is. At first, I thought maybe some type of hound dog mix, but now I’m leaning towards either a runt Doberman mix or a large mini Doberman mix. We also have two cats, Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie is the love bug, and Clyde definitely lives up to his name. Here’s some pics of the clan.

Sorry for the loss of your pup OkieJoe. It is like part of the family is lost.

I think your other pup maybe a blue lacy.
I think that you might very well be correct. I have never heard of that breed until today. I’m looking at pics of other Blue Lacy’s, and I see a ton of similarities with ours. Thank you!

Here in TX, Blue Lacy’s commonly used as blood tracking dogs. If you have any interest in training yours, there’s going to be an Oklahoma Blood Trackers event in OKC on Saturday that you might consider attending.
