I like turtles.

I like finches.
I have to go for a pulmonary function test today. Bleh. But the rest of my day is free, so that's good. I HAVE to clean up everybody's pens today and add to my compost pile. And clean out the shed. Probably wouldn't hurt to rake leaves, too.

This weather is just too nice to pass up getting some work done outside.

Same here, 12 hours today, yesterday, as well.

I'm actually pretty bummed today. Our non-profit is doing a day-long presentation with some of the high school kids at the vo-tech on dating violence, dating control issues and such. It's been a really great program the last 2 years. I built the Powerpoint for it, added a ton of multimedia and video clips and such and it is going to be great. The last two years I think we've have about 160 kids each time, or so. Broken up into some smaller groups.

But this time, I can't get away from work and can't be there to help, which really bums me out. I put a lot of work into the presentation, but more than that, I really just love being there for the kids, to help out, answer questions, break down barriers and stereotypes, etc.

So, I'm stuck in the office, and it's really got me down. :( I wish I could be there helping out.

Dang, man! THAT sucks. You should take some solace in knowing that the work you've done on is very likely helping some kids make better decisions. And, if they wind up in trouble, to know they have a way out.
