Warm and sunny this morning, thunderstorms and hail this afternoon, winter is back this evening. I’m ready for spring to stick around longer than a few hours. Got news about a landowner this morning that lives about 5 miles from me. I don’t know him, but I know of him. He’s an older guy that’s been around here for about 50 years. He was arrested for starving his livestock (longhorn cattle and horses). It made me extremely angry to hear about this, and it makes no sense. Several of the animals were found dead in his pasture. I noticed a few months ago that the pasture was overgrazed, but there was plenty of hay that had been put out. Apparently, he lost interest in the animals, and he just wanted the horns from the longhorn. From what I’ve been told, there was plenty of hay still sitting by the barn, but he just simply quit feeding them. People like this make me sick! If I had seen the starving animals, I would have offered to buy them. It’s a truly unbelievable disgusting story.
