I’m an avid football fan and listen to talk sport radio a lot, especially the local stations. Pat Jones has a show on the Tulsa Sports Animal and I like to listen to him. He goes and watches practices during the summer and is heading there soon, from what he said is it looks like they are going to have a winning season, but on the high-end 9-3, but probably more like 8-4 or 7-5. Listening to him, as a coach for OSU once, he said that for a coach there, the biggest “issue” for that coach is what is the boys down the road doing. He mentioned this lot as a major factor in the head coaching job at OSU. With that, he still thinks that Gundy messed up a little last year by not using the 4 games redshirt rule on Spencer Sanders. He seems to think that to start the season Dru Brown will be the starter, and Spencer could replace him if something happens. He said that Spencer is a better athlete and seems to have a better arm, just not as good with the footwork. Gundy likes loyalty and since Dru is a redshirt senior, that’s why he will get the start. I’m not personally an OSU or OU fan, just a football fan, but I did marry into a family of OSU alum. Other parts of the team, O-line will be middle of the road; the wideout should be really good barring the o-line. The defense is suspect, but that’s just about any Big 12 defense anymore. I don’t think that Gundy needs to be fired; he is the winningest coach of the program. I don’t think that any coach would be able to make them a perennial playoff team. I don’t know what the answer is, but with the recent emergence of Texas, The two top teams of the Big 12 are back.
