Overall, OU played well. Not perfect, not error-free, but well.
The same Alan Eck lead referees that called the O-State vs TexASS game in Austin called the OU vs West Virginia game Saturday in Norman. That crew is horrible! I never expect an officiating crew to see and make every call correctly. I just ask they see and make the obvious calls and do a good job on the bang-bang calls. This crew was horrible!
In the 4th qtr, the WVU QB rolled out to the left and was tackled, but threw the ball from his knees and made a completion that turned out to be a gain of almost 50 yrds. He was right in front of the Center Judge and Referee and he didn't make the call! After the play, Bob Stoops had to run onto the field to get the attention of the Referee to review the call. And the reception was overturned. This follows a blow call in the first half where the WVU QB was tackled, but threw the ball out of bounds. Again, the Center Judge and Referee were right there and didn't make the call.
These guys need to find something else to do on Saturdays .
