Ok, noticed this today when I went to clean my P22 after some range time. It looks like the slide catch either did not come up all the way or the slide lifted when the catch went to engage. Should I be worried about this or have Walther take a look at it? Don't remember it not engaging today, but a few weeks back I think it failed to engage. Only that one time though.

Yeah I tried too, and I am younger (and better lookin') than Dennis but I couldn't see anything either. More light; bigger pics; couple of different views please.

Hmmmm, thanks for the effort FNm, but not that much more to be determined here. Although I suspect the wear may be due to the Zamak crap used in the P22 slide. There is a lot of good info available in The P22 Bible on these things, Google said booklet and read away, is my suggestion. Or cover the blem with a Sharpie and carry on. Or rid yourself of the cursed thing and buy a Ruger MK IV or 22/45 or a S&W M&P .22 Compact and stick an EWK Barrel Bushing thingamajig on it.

And for Dennis: Yeah, you be. Prolly oughta change your user name to ricosuave. You savage.

I'll get a better pic of it, but basically it looks like the slide was coming forward and the stop tried to engage but was not fully up. The result is a divot right at the edge. Almost looks like someone tried to pin it in place.

*edit*

Those pot metal slides start to wear from the slide lock over time. It happens to a lot of them.

After seeing the better pics above, I agree for sure that this is what has happened. I doubt Walther is going to do anything about it....were it mine, I'd just not worry about it and keep shooting it until it won't shoot no more.
