I have a Mini 14 GB that I like outside of the black plastic stock. Since I can not afford to replace it, I was thinking about painting it. Maybe a medium brown to resemble a wood stock.

Just wondering what kind of paint would work best. Any suggestions?

Man, I remember the days when you could get a wood stock off of eBay for less than 40 bucks. Krylon it and repaint or strip/repaint as needed.

Where they bust the sod in South Tulsa County.
I had the composite stock on my Remington painted professionally with Duracoat by a certified contractor in Midwest City. I can post a photo tomorrow. He used Rhodesian Brown which was left over from when he did the Czech Military Camouflage on my CZ 455. I think he changed me $50 for the Remy.

My opinion never paint gun. Each gun has history why pair over it. But everyone has different taste. For me real wood and blueing when possible.
