Hi all,
I have a friend that has built a mechanical tool and is interested in getting it patented.
He tried using a patent attorney based in California (put a few thousand into the effort), but the attorney hourly rates in California is absurd. So he put the project it on pause, and is re-adjusting his game plan.

Is there any Patent attorneys in Oklahoma that is recommended?
Preferably near OKC, but that's negotiable.
Hopefully reasonably priced - as attorneys go.

If you've got first/second hand experiences, please share.
Thanks for any inputs.

Thanks, I appreciate the input.
Unfortunately the OK bar association is of little help for providing recommendations (they won't give it - because they can't show 'preference'). It doesn't matter how you try to word it. And yes - I've tried calling the OK Bar association before.

I would prefer first/second hand experiences.
Thanks.

There was one up in Stillwater at one time with I think the last name of Night that we used probably 10 years ago. He was extremely well versed on the process.

I searched, but didn't find any Knight or Night attorneys in Stillwater that did Patents.
There was a Knight attorney - but he was a injury type attorney.
If you can recall any better information, I would appreciate it.

For future reference, this may help others....
I did find this:

The US patent office tries to maintain a listing of Patent attorneys.
I had never found this reference before. You can sort by state and town to find a local patent attorney.

https://www.uspto.gov/learning-and-resources/attorneys-agents-paralegals/oklahoma
then click 'Find a registered patent attorney or agent in Oklahoma'

NOW... that doesn't mean they're all equally good.
A good reference from a happy customer is worth serious consideration.
The search is still on, but at least these patent attorneys have a local area code.

If you know of one, please share.

Ponca City,OK.
We have an Inventors Group here in Ponca. I've been to a few of their meetings because I have several things I think would sell. From what I remember it cost around 9K to 12K to get a patent. Get him to get Intellectual Property rights on his idea and then he can sell it .

Don't know your leanings regarding our state schools but OSU has this that might help.
Likely OU has something similar.

Also, at one time there was a patent lawyer named Mary M. Lee in the Edmond area. I do not know if we she is still doing that kind of work or not and I do not have contact info.........but I bet Google does.
