Pauls Valley is in the running for Best Southern Small Town at USA Today

My aunt and uncle lived there in the 70’s, but I haven’t stopped there in years other than to fuel up a couple times. That’s all I know about PV. 
The church bus used to break down in Pauls Valley every year, on the way to Falls Creek. I got to know Bev's Diner pretty well over the years.

Worst thing that could happen. All the damn east/west coast liberals will start buying land and moving to the area. In 20 years you'll wonder what happened to your lovely area.
Sponsored by USA Today so there you have one strike against it already. USA is one of the most liberal papers in the US. The entire premise is only designed to sell readership not promote small towns. What do the towns get out of it a small write up and being put on a list for bragging rights for a year? What are the criteria for getting put on the possible list in the first place? Does the town have to enter anything through the paper? Is there a selection process? Readership only voting by online voting?

The streets are so rough you have to drive so slow you can window shop while driving. When there is road construction in I35 we will go through there to avoid the traffic jams. I’d almost rather sit in a traffic jam than drive those brick streets.
